木春由乃是個從鄉下前往東京，即將短大畢業的普通20歲女生，懷着如此夢想的她接受了30多家公司的面試，但仍然沒能得到內定。
銀行的餘額僅剩920日元。這樣下去的話，就要回到鄉下當個普通的大媽了……

就在如此糾結着的某一天，她收到了來自以前曾工作過的派遣事務所的委託：「作為地域小鎮振興的一環，希望你能來當國王」。
雖然不是很懂，但她懷着輕鬆的心情前往委託地點 間野山市──曾經在日本轟動一時，但隨着泡沫崩潰而幾乎完全失去往昔繁榮的迷你獨立國。

由乃意外的被任命為「間野山」這個鄉下地方的「國王」，她將為了振興地方觀光，與其他 4 位女孩子們，
